On December 12th, the I Tourism Sector Training Forum, promoted by Gipuzkoa Hotels, was held at the Catalonia Hotel. This event provided a platform to delve into tourism training programs and foster synergies and alliances between educational institutions and the job market.

Educational institutions and businesses shared the needs of a demanding sector that requires well-prepared professionals with a passion for a customer-centric profession. Among the proposed actions are student visits to hotels, masterclasses by hotel professionals at educational institutions, the continuation of internships in Gipuzkoan hotels, the development of specialized programs for training professionals already in the field, and a commitment to advancing the generation of specialized talent in a sector that is approaching pre-pandemic levels. Before the pandemic, the tourism sector represented 8% of Gipuzkoa's GDP, solidifying its position as one of the main economic activities in the region.
